The Angler


I craved for him like I never starved for anything under the universe.

It’s my soul that melts into his aura.

When we met,
the sea rumbled and hissed in my ears;

He seized me with raw masculinity,
igniting me like fire devours rainforests—
and stirred the femininity in me.

Kings, warriors, artisans—

of all men in this world, why would I have chosen you?

Through storms, winds, thunder, and rain,
hope rises for a new dawn-
He promised me he would come back home.
